This spell makes the target into Somebody Else's Problem (an S.E.P.). Effectively, this makes the object invisible. Everyone unconsciously notices that it's there, but chooses to ignore it, because they consider it to be S.E.P.

This has some peculiar side effects. People will unconsciously walk around SEPs, never tripping on them, even though they're sure they see nothing. They cannot, however, see through an SEP. They're simply making an educated guess about what's behind it and choosing to see that instead.

SEPs leave quite a lot of evidence of their existence; people walking around them without thinking about it, noticing things that aren't there “out of the corner of their eye”, hearing a faint sound at the very edge of consciousness, wierd things happening around them, etc. The GM should make subtle hints such as these. Just roll dice behind your screen, as though making a perception roll for the PCs and mention something odd. The larger the object, the larger the oddity that's noticed. For something human sized, the above examples are fine. For something the size of a mountain, this might be as significant as a faint, extra moon in the sky. Be creative and cryptic.

Actively searching for invisible objects allows an IQ roll to confirm the presence of an SEP; success indicates that the character has put all the pieces together. This doesn't help with hitting it in combat. Either way, a character may still choose to assume there's an invisible object in the room and start swinging wildly.
