Sometimes as a GM, you get tired of the standard versions of a monster, such as a plain goblin or a regular skeleton. Sometimes you just want to spice up an encounter with something new without actually building a monster. This page is for GMs wishing for a new spin on an old monster and is the monster equivalent to the Character Toolkit.

This works similar to the Character Toolkit in that it uses lenses. However, these are intended to modify an existing monster racial template to create a new breed or variant of the same monster.

These are available in the form of GCS template files containing lenses with a common theme. In addition, many of the lenses from the Character Toolkit are also quite appropriate for individualizing monsters (especially the Miscellaneous Lenses).

Players may also use these lenses, with the GM's permission. Many lenses will be inappropriate for PCs.
