The force of Death is the ultimate equalizer in the multiverse. Everyone and everything eventually falls prey to him. In general, he is neither caring nor kind. He simply is. He's said to wield a scythe, wear a black robe and ride a pale horse.

Death himself cannot be stopped, slowed or even harmed, but his avatars (known as Minor Deaths) can be slain. Doing even this much is very difficult.

Minor Deaths are most often encountered through the Skull card from a Deck of Many Things, a dangerous magic item with terrible consequences for the unlucky.
