This creature was once the leader of a great many lesser demons. Together, they were planning to gather up many key magical resources in the Archipelago, including several magical artifacts of great power.
Toward this end, he transformed himself into a human and took on the name Dominic Wolper to gain the assistance of a sage. During his time among humans, he grew to love a beautiful woman that lived in the sage's village. Within a short time, she was equally enchanted with him.
He lost track of time and two of his lieutenants made their way to him, in order to determine what the hold-up was. While they were discussing the matter with him, his beloved stumbled upon the meeting and without a second thought, his lieutenants killed her on the spot.
Needless to say, he was furious and tortured his lieutenants to death. Shortly after, he returned to his band and slaughtered as many of them as he could. Some escaped and now seek to ruin his new life, to "shake him back to his senses." It's a great embarassment that their leader turned stag on them, so before anyone else finds out, they hope to get him back.
About a year later, distraught with grief over the loss of his beloved, he visited League Headquaters, explained the whole story and demanded that he be slain. Astonishingly, they instead helped him through his grief and gave him a job. He's been working for the League ever since. However, they didn't take any chances in the process: they thoroughly screened him using magic to determine the truth of his statements.
Several years have passed and he's now a member of the Hazard Harbingers, the League's founding party.
The top brass trust him completely, and that's really saying something, considering the fact that he's a full-blooded demon!
